Germany international Pascal Gross returned to the Bundesliga over the summer to join Borussia Dortmund from Brighton & Hove Albion.

In an interview with Kicker, the central midfielder revealed his reasons for signing for the Black and Yellows.

"I've always said that I'm open to returning to Germany if everything fits - even though I knew what I had at Brighton. I had a great time and a lot of fun there. But when the offer came from Dortmund, I knew I had to do it," Gross said, adding:

"I can play in the Champions League for a big club and compete at the highest level in Germany. It was a big temptation, because since I left Ingolstadt I always felt that my story in the Bundesliga was still unfinished.

Gross, 33, has three assists in three games for Dortmund so far.
