Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has confirmed that Donyell Malen is "attracting interest on the market" amid reports that Aston Villa are in talks to sign the Dutchman.

"'Donny' is an important player for us and has been our top scorer in the last two seasons," Kehl told DPA on Friday, commenting on the speculation surrounding Malen's future.

“I'm not surprised that his qualities are attracting interest on the market. Nevertheless, he is of great value to us.”

According to reports, Borussia Dortmund have already rejected two bids from Aston Villa, the latest of which was worth €18 million plus bonuses.

Local publication Ruhr Nachrichten has reported that Dortmund want at least €25 million plus add-ons for the striker, who has been with the club since joining from PSV in 2021.
