Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that 1. FC Union Berlin may be without keeper Frederik Rønnow for the coming league fixture against Frankfurt. The 32-year-old Dane has been struggling with foot issues. Union signed former Freiburg, Bielefeld, Schalke, and Hertha net-minder Alexander Schwolow to back up Rønnow in the summer of 2023, but the former German youth international has made just one appearance for his new league side.

Schwolow does bring with him the cumulative ve experience of 200 German top flight appearances for his various clubs, but wasn't even able to maintain his starting position for loan club FC Schalke 04 during the 2022/23 relegation fight.Rønnow has done well thus far for Union this year, keeping three clean sheets in his seven league starts.
