RB Leipzig managing director for sport Marcel Schäfer believes Conrad Harder was denied a clear penalty in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Wolfsburg.
According to Schäfer, this is just the latest in a series of decisions he feels have gone against Die Roten Bullen in recent weeks.
“There have been several decisions that haven't gone our way in recent weeks, and today was no different. Conrad Harder is brought down as he's heading out of the penalty box. In my view, that is 100% a penalty,” said Marcel Schäfer.
RB Leipzig coach Ole Werner echoed these sentiments, noting that the club has received multiple phone calls from referees admitting their mistakes in recent weeks.
"At the minute, we seem to be getting almost weekly phone calls from referees, apologising for having made a mistake. They don't need to apologise, as it's not as though they're doing it on purpose. But, I have a feeling that we might be getting another phone call tomorrow," said Werner.
