On-loan Bayern winger takes sly dig at Tuchel after scoring winner for Spain

Bryan Zaragoza struggled for game time at Bayern Munich in the second half of last season, playing just 171 minutes in all competitions under Thomas Tuchel  after joining from Granada in January.

In the summer, he was sent out on loan to Osasuna, where he has flourished, earning call-ups to the Spanish national team in October and this month.

After coming on as a substitute against Switzerland on Monday night, Zaragoza proved to be Spain's hero, scoring the winner from the penalty spot to earn his team a 3-2 win.

Speaking to Cadena SER (via Football Espana) after the game, Zaragoza appeared to take a sly dig at now-former Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, who cited the winger's lack of German and English skills as one of the main reasons for his limited playing time at Bayern.

“Football is played with your feet, not with the language," Zaragoza said, adding:

“I never lack the desire to represent my country. I was on the bench, I wanted to eat up the pitch, and I have shown it. My game is based on dribbling and every time I have the ball I try to do so. Taking the penalty was a show of personality.”

As of now, Zaragoza is due to return to Bayern when his loan spell is over at the end of the season, but there has been speculation about his future with the Bavarians.
