It was confirmed last week that Joao Palhinha had to leave the Portugal camp and return to Munich due to injury.

Now,Bayern Munich have revealed that the defensive midfielder has suffered a torn muscle fibre in his right adductor.

As a result, Palhinha will miss the coming weeks, including key fixtures against Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.

Since Aleksandar Pavlovic broke his collarbone against Stuttgart a month ago, Palhinha has started five of Bayern's last six games.

On the bright side for the Bavarians, Pavlovic was back in team training on Monday, but he still needs time before he can return to action.
