Eight Bundesliga players still in the running for the Golden Boy award

Eight players from the Bundesliga are still in contention to win the Golden Boy award after the list of nominees has been cut down to 40.
Since it was established by Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport in 2003, the Golden Boy award has been given every year by sports journalists to the best under-21 player in Europe.

The list of nominees was recently cut down to 40, and there are still eight young players from the Bundesliga in the mix, with the following starlets among those in contention to win the award:

Ilaix Moriba, RB Leipzig
Josko Gvardiola, RB Leipzig
Brian Brobbey, RB Leipzig
Jude Bellingham, Borussia Dortmund
Giovanni Reyna, Borussia Dortmund
Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen
Odilon Kossounou, Bayer Leverkusen
Jamal Musiala, FC Bayern München

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland won the Golden Boy award last year ahead of FC Barcelona's Ansu Fati and FC Bayern's Alphonso Davies.
