Borussia Dortmund defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal on Wednesday night.

The win not only puts BVB in a good position for the return leg in Paris, but also ensures that Germany will have at least five teams in next season's edition of the Champions League.

Dortmund themselves are currently fifth in the Bundesliga, so the extra spot could prove crucial for them.

If the Black and Yellows win the Champions League and finish fifth or lower in the Bundesliga, Germany will have six teams in Europe's top club competition next season.
