Timo Werner to miss remainder of the season

RB Leipzig loanee Timo Werner was forced off after 30 minutes for Tottenham during Sunday's North London derby against Arsenal. Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglu recently confirmed that the attacker will miss the remaining matches of the campaign with a hamstring injury.

As confirmed by Ange Postecoglu today, Timo Werner's season has ended abruptly after facing an early substitution during Tottenham's recent loss to arch-nemesis Arsenal.

The 28-year-old has made 13 appearances for Tottenham since his January arrival on loan from RB Leipzig. In that time, the German forward has netted twice and assisted a teammate on three occasions.

Earlier today, Postecoglu confirmed that “Timo is out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury," which is a huge setback for the player looking to regain his form after a poor second spell with Die Roten Bullen.

Despite nothing being confirmed with regards to the future of Werner, it is reported that the forward carries the preference of staying in North London.

Tottenham will make their decision over the next month as to whether the €16 million option to purchase Werner will be triggered.
