Hansi Flick: 'I have to praise the lads for their attitude'

Hansi Flick was happy with his players' mentality after yesterday's win over North Macedonia.
Germany coach Hansi Flick praised his players for their attitude after they booked their ticket to next year's World Cup with a 4-0 victory over North Macedonia on Monday.

After a goalless first half, Kai Havertz's 50th-minute opener was followed by a brace from Timo Werner and a first goal from Jamal Musiala.

"We have qualified which is what we wanted. I have to praise the lads for their attitude, they didn't let them have any chances," Flick told reporters after the game.

"The first half was a bit wild, we were lacking that precision just as against Romania," he added, referring to last week's 2-1 win.

"We kicked on after the first goal and were clinical, so I think we can be satisfied."
