RB Leipzig coach Jesse Marsch has reprimanded Benjamin Henrichs for a recent interview with Kicker, in which the defender complained about his lack of playing time this season.

"I've talked a lot with 'Benni'," Marsch told reporters at a press conference today and added:

"In my opinion, he has communicated too much via social media and with the media. That's his decision, I don't take it personally.

"I supported him when he asked me if he could take part in the Olympics, but he lost important time with the team in pre-season as a result and was then injured.

"I had a conversation with him three or four weeks ago in which I told him: 'Honestly, I'm not sure what your qualities are and how much you can help our team'. I hardly knew him except from our training sessions."

Despite the criticism, Henrichs is 'an option' for Saturday's home clash with Greuther Fürth, Marsch revealed.

"But, yes... I'll probably talk to 'Benni' again," he emphasized.

Henrichs has played 23 minutes of football for Leipzig this season. Most recently, he came on as a substitute in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
