Two Bundesliga teams were in action in the Champions League tonight, with RB Leipzig locking horns with Paris Saint-Germain at Red Bull Arena and Borussia Dortmund taking on Ajax at Signal Iduna Park.

Leipzig were off to the perfect start as Christopher Nkunku nodded in the opener against his former club with just eight minutes played.

André Silva could have increased Leipzig's lead from the penalty spot four minutes later after he was tripped by Danilo in the box, but the Portuguese international couldn't put the ball past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Instead, PSG found the equaliser at the other end of the pitch as Georginio Wijnaldum was teed up by Kylian Mbappé to finish off an excellent move in the 21st minute. The Dutchman was on hand again in the 39th minute, scoring his second goal at the back post after a corner.

It looked like PSG were going to walk away with the win until Leipzig were awarded a late penalty after Presnel Kimpembe conceded a foul on Nkunku. Second-half substitute Dominik Szobozlai stepped up to convert from the spot, earning Leipzig a point.

Despite the draw, Leipzig can no longer advance to the round of 16, having lost their first three games in the Champions League this season.

Elsewhere, Dortmund were out to avenge last month's 4-0 defeat against Ajax, but the Bundesliga side suffered a huge setback when Mats Hummels was controversially sent off for a challenge on Antony just shy of the half hour mark.

They still managed to go 1-0 up as Marco Reus scored a penalty with 37 minutes on the clock, but couldn't hold on to their lead and ended up losing 1-3 after Dusan Tadic, Sebastien Haller and Davy Klaassen got on the scoresheet for Ajax after the break.

Dortmund still sit second in their group, three points behind Ajax and on points with third-placed Sporting CP.
