Sport Bild Report: New injury setback to sideline Dani Olmo through end of 2021

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that Spanish attacking midfielder Dani Olmo has suffered an injury set-back that may sideline him for the rest of 2021.
After complaints of muscle problems kept Dani Olmo on the Leipzig bench this weekend against Hoffenheim, a Monday MRI examination has apparently returned a bitter diagnosis. Germany's Sport Bild reports that the 23-year-old has a torn muscle fiber and can expect a minimum of three-weeks downtime.

According to the newspaper, Leipzig are prepared to keep him off the pitch until the second-half of the season commences shortly after the turn of the calendar year. The versatile attacker has barely featured at all for club this season due to a torn thigh muscle sustained during a long summer of international duty that featured both the Euros and the Olympics.

Olmo has made just sic appearances across all competitions, never going the full 90 minutes once. Leipzig kick off the "Rück-runde" on January 8th, 2022 against FSV Mainz 05.
