After demonstrating some creative moxie in the midweek draw at Augsburg, RB Leipzig returned to their empty home arena and delivered an offensive performance about as hollow as the deserted venue in which they played. The German Red Bulls simply had no ideas in their 0-2 loss to relegation candidates Arminia Bielefeld.

The seventh loss of the season leaves last year's second-placed finishers in ninth place halfway through the current campaign. Having won his debut, drawn his second match, and then lost the final match of the calendar year, Domenico Tedesco did not disguise his disappointment.
"We didn't have as many scoring chances as we did in Augsburg," Tedesco noted afterwards, "We were far too sloppy in the final third."
Despite playing with a man advantage after Fabian Klos' red-card, die roten Bullen somehow couldn't work out where the spaces were. In a direct slam at his team's lack of imagination, Tedesco conceded that having the extra man made no difference whatsoever.
"I honestly entertained no notion that we would have come close to scoring a goal if we had played another hour," the 36-year-old lamented.
