DFB confirms two-match ban for Fabian Klos

DSC Arminia Bielefeld will have to do without veteran striker Fabian Klos for two rounds after the league resumes in January.
The DFB disciplinary committee confirmed a two-match ban for Fabian Klos on Monday evening. The 34-year-old was ejected from the weekend upset win over RB Leipzig by match official Frank Willenborg after a VAR review. Klos' challenge on Willi Orban was deemed malicious.

Bielefeld will thus have to make do without their senior striker for upcoming league matches against SC Freiburg (January 9th) and SpVgg Greuther Fürth (January 16th). Frank Kramer may have little to worry about as he had already opted to bench Klos in the last two league fixtures (both victories) before the break.

The East Westphalians from the northern Teutoburg fringes actually even scored their second goal against Leipzig after Klos' sending off on Saturday. The DSC remains in the 17th-place automatic relegation spot half-way through the 2021/22 campaign.
