Confirmed: Union sign Freiburg defender
Dominique Heintz will join Union Berlin from Freiburg in January.
1. FC Union Berlin have confirmed the signing of Dominique Heintz on a permanent deal from SC Freiburg.
The 28-year-old centre-back will make the switch to Berlin at the end of the year.
"Union have taken an impressive step forward in recent years. They have not only established themselves in the Bundesliga, but also left their mark in Europe. After three and a half years at Freiburg, I'm now looking forward to the new task and becoming part of this club," said Heintz.
Union Berlin managing director of professional football Oliver Ruhnert commented:
"Dominique is an extremely experienced player who has already shown his quality in the Bundesliga. With his ability, he will bring us more flexibility. We are delighted that he has accepted the new challenge."
