Sergino Dest Updates: Bayern have made initial contact with Barça

The latest news on the Sergino Dest to Bayern front holds that the German giants did indeed contact FC Barcelona about a potential loan arrangement approximately six weeks ago.

Apart from that, more movement shouldn't come until the transfer window officially re-opens on January 1st.

It looks to be the case that there will be no new movement on any potential move by Sergino Dest to Germany's record champions before the turn of the calendar year. Tobi Altschäffl of Germany's main sporting tabloid wrote on twitter today that the Bavarians contacted Barça some six weeks ago to enquire about the possibility of acquiring the American fullback on loan or possibly purchasing him after the season.

Altschäffl emphasizes that no formal requests or specific offers were tendered. This means that there is little to nothing to some media reports suggesting that intense negotiations are underway.

Gerard Moreno, who speculated that Bayern might strike a deal to send either Corentin Tolisso or Marc Roca over to the Peninsula in exchange for Dest, hasn't published any new information beyond the fact that a loan ship-out back to Ajax seems to have fallen through.

Moreno maintains that Bayern remain the prime candidates to land the 21-year-old, whom the Spanish journalist claims will definitely be leaving Catalonia.
