Matchday 8 – team of the week (3-4-3):

Calm and very strong. Won 89 percent of his duels against Stuttgart.

Centre-back: Mats Hummels, Bayern München
Set up Robert Lewandowski's opener with a wonderful pass. A calm and reliable presence.

Centre-back: Martin Hinteregger, FC Augsburg (2)
Delivered a strong performance against RB Leipzig and helped Augsburg to get a clean sheet. Won 75 percent of his duels, blocked two shots and was good at bringing the ball forward from the defence.

Right midfielder: Thorgan Hazard, Borussia Mönchengladbach
The Belgium international was among the best Gladbach players in the impressive 4-0 win over Mainz. Scored once and set up two goals.

Central midfielder: Jonas Hofmann, Borussia Mönchengladbach (3)
Jonas Hofmann showed once again that he is really thriving at the moment as he bagged a hattrick in the win over Mainz.

Central midfielder: Maximilian Eggestein, Werder Bremen (2)
Made the difference for Werder Bremen as he earned his side a 2-0 win over Schalke 04 with two well-taken goals.

Left midfielder: Filip Kostic, Eintracht Frankfurt
Very active down the left hand side and sent in some dangerous crosses. Set up two goals.

Striker: Luka Jovic, Eintracht Frankfurt (2)
What a performance! Became the first ever Eintracht Frankfurt player to score five goals in a Bundesliga match in the 7-1 win against Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Instrumental for Bayern with two goals and an assist as the Bavarians returned to winning ways against Wolfsburg.
