Gladbach updates: Wolf attracts interest from Celtic and Rapid Vienna, loan-out Poulsen potentially headed back early
There is some news concerning both potential arrivals and departures as of late Monday evening.
German footballing magazine Kicker reports that early attempts to shop Austrian attacker Hannes Wolf has lead to interest from both Celtic Glasgow and Rapid Vienna.
The paper also reports that FC Ingolstadt may send loan-out Andreas Poulsen back early.
Finding a buyer for the underutilized Hannes Wolf remains a top priority for Max Eberl and the Borussia Mönchengladbach front office this January. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder's stay in Gladbach was made permanent last summer via a purchase obligation in his loan agreement from RB Leipzig.

Although Wolf did find some playing time under previous club trainer Marco Rose (evidently enough to trigger the clause), Adi Hütter gave up on the notion of using the former Salzburg and Leipzig player in his starting XI after the fifth round of the current campaign. Wolf has made just two inconsequential relief appearances since.
Such a reality renders Wolf's reported €10 million purchase amount an unequivocal bust. In rather dire straights financially, Gladbach are definitely seeking a buyer to recoup some of the funds. German footballing magazine Kicker lists Celtic Glasgow and Rapid Wien as potential buyers, though it remains unclear how much Eberl can get for a player who's market value has fallen down to €7 million. Both RB Leipzig and now Gladbach have apparently now given up on the once €12 million valued prospect.
On the arrivals front, Kicker also reports that FC Ingolstadt have been similarly unimpressed with Danish fullback Andreas Poulsen. Another one of Gladbach's bust purchases (the club paid €4.5 million for the youngster back in 2018), has apparently failed to impress in just two appearances for the 2. Bundesliga's last-placed club. After multiple loan outs, it's unclear what the foals might yet be able to accomplish with the once highly touted left back. Eberl was not averse to giving the youngster another look last summer.
