Official: Hertha striker Piatek joins Fiorentina

Following a passed medical, ACF Fiorentina officially confirmed the capture of Hertha striker Krzysztof Piatek on Friday evening.
After two calendar years, Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek is headed back to the Serie A. The 26-year-old returns to the league where he spent parts of three seasons with Genoa C.F.C. and AC Milan.

While the Italian club did not provide details of the transaction, the latest report from Germany's Sport Bild states that it is a loan out with fees and an optional purchase clause. The center forward, for whom Hertha BSC paid €24 million to purchase from Milan in the January 2020 transfer window, leaves Germany having scored just 13 goals across all competitions for "die alte Dame" in the last 24 months.

His market value, once at €32 million, has sunk to €10 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. Piatek will play alongside former VfB Stuttgart attacker Nicolas Gonzalez, who also transferred to the Lilacs this summer.
