Thomas Müller: "The luck was just not on our side"

Bayern München forward Thomas Müller bemoaned his side's bad luck after they fell to a 1-2 defeat against Gladbach.
Thomas Müller felt Bayern München deserved more in their 1-2 defeat against Gladbach on Friday.

Müller set up Lewandowski's opener, but Gladbach then turned the game around thanks to goals from Florian Neuhaus and Stefan Lainer.

"Overall, luck was just not on our side today. There was more to be had in the game," Müller said in a post-match interview.

"The first half was a bit strange. I think we had the game completely under control for 25 minutes. Then we conceded the equaliser out of nowhere, and towards the end we faded and gave the ball away too often. We were a bit too passive at the back.

"In the second half, we felt like we were only playing to score once. Despite losing the ball a lot, we created a lot of chances and hit the woodwork three times."
