Fantasy Bundesliga:
Template team and potential transfers for Matchday 20

By FBLThinker   @FBLThinker

In the wake of Matchday 19, which was chaotic with last minute news of Kostic ruled out with Covid and Szoboszlai injured while warming up, we head towards Matchday 20. One of the important lessons learnt is to make transfers as late as possible to give maximum chance to get news related to players out through Covid or injuries.
Florian Wirtz.

In this article, we take a look at our selected template team as well as the players we can target to bring in this matchday, using our 3 transfers.

In this regard, the word 'template' refers to players who are highly owned, regularly scoring good fantasy points and being main players for their teams.

Below, you'll find the template team from last week and the latest Fantasy score of each player.

Goalkeepers:
Mark Flekken, Freiburg (7.8M), 0 points
Manuel Riemann, Bochum (5.8M), 6 points

Defenders:
Raphaël Guerreiro, Dortmund (13.9M), 2 points
Aarón Martín, Mainz (3.6M), 15 points
Jeremie Frimpong, Leverkusen (7.6M), 4 points
Borna Sosa, Stuttgart (10.7M), 0 points
Cedric Brunner, Bielefeld (5.3M), 6 points

Midfielders:
Patrick Wimmer, Bielefeld (5.4M), 10 points
Filip Kostic, Frankfurt (17.3M), 0 points
Vincenzo Grifo, Freiburg (14.8M), 0 points
Christopher Nkunku, RB Leipzig (17.5M), 11 points
Dominik Szoboszlai, RB Leipzig (12.1M), 0 points

Strikers:
Robert Lewandowski, Bayern (21.2M), 27 points
Erling Haaland, Dortmund (18.3M), 20 points
Patrik Schick, Leverkusen (15.6M), 12 points

TRANSFER 1:
Dominik Szoboszlai OUT, Florian Wirtz IN

Szoboszlai got injured in the warm up and couldn't play against Stuttgart. He missed the DFB Pokal match also and is doubtful for the match against Wolfsburg. Having moved Wirtz out last week, we bring him straight back as he looked to be back to his best, providing an assist and being an integral part of the Leverkusen attack. Wirtz has a home game against Augsburg, who have looked defensively shaky, so he is expected to have a good game.

TRANSFER 2:
Raphael Guerreiro OUT, Benjamin Pavard IN

Moving Guerreiro is always a risk as he is one of the best defenders in the league in terms of attacking output and chance creation. However, due to his recent poor form, the patchy Dortmund defense and his high value of 13.9M, moving him out can free up funds to invest in other parts of the team. Pavard is brought in to give flexibility as he plays last in matchday against Hertha, who have been shot shy and one of the leagues lowest scorers.

TRANSFER 3:
Borna Sosa OUT, Josko Gvardiol IN

Gvardiol has been the best Leipzig defender so far with 2 double-digit Fantasy point returns in his last 2 matches, and he now has a home game against Wolfsburg, who are in poor form and yet to win since the Bundesliga restart. The young centre-back should have a good chance of picking up a clean sheet, and along with it, he is capable of getting attacking returns.
