Schalke remove Gazprom from shirts

Schalke 04 have reacted to Russia's invasion of Ukraine by removing the GAZPROM lettering from their shirts.
As a result of Russia's attack on Ukraine, Schalke 04 have removed Russian energy giant Gazprom from their shirts.

"Following recent developments, FC Schalke 04 have decided to remove the logo of main sponsor GAZPROM from the club's shirts," read a statement from the 2. Bundesliga club.

"It will be replaced by lettering reading ‘Schalke 04’ instead."

Gazprom has been sponsoring Schalke 04 since 2006.
