Scally speaks on bench role and competition with Lainer and Bensebaini

Joe Scally has shared his thoughts on his current bench role as well as his friendly competition with Stefan Lainer and Ramy Bensebaini.
After emerging as a regular starter for Borussia Mönchengladbach in the first half of the season, Joe Scally has seen his playing time limited of late, with Stefan Lainer and Ramy Bensebaini both fully fit and starting again.

In an interview with ESPN, the 19-year-old full-back has shared his thoughts on his role since the winter break.

"Everyone wants to start [for the first team], but these are senior guys, so for example when I'm training on the right, [Lainer] will always help me, giving me little tips either on the defensive side or the attacking side. He's a veteran, a great player," Scally said and added:

"Same with [Bensebaini] on the left if I'm training there. He'll tell me little things like since I'm right-footed I can cut in, making it much easier. So even though it's all competition we are a team and we all help each other."

Scally spoke exclusively with Bulinews back in December. Check out part 1 of that interview here and part 2 here.
