Bayern München will have to manage without Thiago Alcantara for some time. The midfielder suffers from an ankle ligament tear that will keep him out for 'a few weeks', the club have confirmed.

Thiago took a blow to his ankle during last night's DFB-Pokal game against SV Rödinghausen and had to be replaced after 75 minutes. He since left the stadium on crutches.

The injury means the midfield maestro is likely to miss Bayern's 'Der Klassiker' clash against Borussia Dortmund on November 10.

Thiago has appeared in 14 out of Bayern's 15 competitive games this season until now.
