Official: Mainz vs. Dortmund postponed
The German Football League has confirmed that the game between Mainz and Borussia Dortmund has been postponed.
The Bundesliga game between Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, which was due to take place this Sunday, has officially been called off.
In a statement today, the German Football League (DFL) has confirmed that the match will be moved to March 16 due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the Mainz squad.
"The match is being rescheduled because 1. FSV Mainz 05 don't have the minimum number of players required under the DFL's match regulations due to, among other things, domestic isolation as a result of positive corona cases," said the DFL in a statement.
A total of 19 members of Mainz's first team set-up have tested positive for COVID-19, with 13 of them being players.
