Hofmann out with muscle injury

Jonas Hofmann faces a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a muscle injury.
Borussia Mönchengladbach have been rocked by an injury blow ahead of their Bundesliga game against Hertha BSC on Saturday.

At the pre-match press conference on Thursday, assistant coach Christian Peintinger revealed that Jonas Hofmann has sustained an injury.

"Jonas Hofmann has suffered a muscle strain and will be sidelined for a while,," said Peintinger, who is in charge of the team while head coach Adi Hütter is in isolation due to COVID-19.

"'Stevie' Lainer, Marvin Friedrich and Tony Jantschke have returned to team training. It remains to be seen whether they will be fit to play," added the assistant coach.

Gladbach will definitely have to manage without the suspended Ramy Bensebaini and captain Lars Stindl, who is working on his recovery from an injury.
