Bayern München have joined the race for sought-after RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer, according to reports.

Both Bild and Kicker are linking the Austrian international with a move to Allianz Arena, with current Bayern and former Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann said to be a big fan of his former player.

Bayern are also understood to be interested in Christopher Nkunku, who has set the Bundesliga on fire this season, racking up 17 goals and 15 assists in 30 games for Leipzig this season.

However, after losing Nagelsmann, Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer to Bayern last summer, Leipzig are reluctant to let any of their key players join the German champions at the end of the season, according to Bild.

This also applies to Laimer, although Leipzig risk losing the midfielder on a free transfer in 2023, when his contract expires.

Laimer has also been linked with a host of other clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Tottenham.
