Mainz 05 vs Eintracht Frankfurt preview: Die Nullfünfer aiming for a third consecutive victory
Mainz 05 will be looking to head into the summer break on the back of three consecutive victories, but to do that, they must beat Europa League finalists Eintracht Frankfurt.
Mainz 05
At one stage of the season, Mainz looked set to qualify for European competition. Although they have fallen short of the top seven, Die Nullfünfer can still be proud of their efforts this term.
Mainz will achieve their highest Bundesliga finish since the 2015-16 campaign, and the ninth-placed side could still move up to eighth position before the final whistle blows to end the current Bundesliga season.
Bo Svensson's side enter the final matchday in an upbeat mood after winning just their third away league game of the season last weekend.
They return to home surroundings on Saturday, and they will be confident that they can achieve a positive result after losing just one of their last 12 home league games. Mainz have relied heavily on their home form this season, picking up 34 of their 45 points from home games.
A resilient defence has been a major factor in their home defence, with Mainz boasting the best defensive home record in the Bundesliga after conceding just nine league goals at the Mewa Arena this term.

The hosts are still expected to be without the services of Jae-Sung Lee and Delano Burgzorg.
Eintracht Frankfurt
Eintracht Frankfurt have endured an underwhelming league campaign, but the 2021-22 season has still been a success, with Die Adler looking forward to a Europa League final against Rangers on May 8.
Although they will fall well short of last season's fifth place finish, Die Adler - who sit in 12th spot - can still move up to 10th position on the final matchday.
A 1-1 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach last weekend extended Frankfurt's winless league run to seven matches.
An away trip will not daunt Frankfurt, with Die Adler collecting more points on the road this season than they have at home.
However, recent Bundesliga away games have not been too successful, and they will be aiming to avoid a third consecutive away league defeat on Saturday.
Die Adler are looking for a league double over Mainz after winning 1-0 in the reverse fixture, while they are unbeaten in their last three competitive meetings with Die Nullfünfer.
