Team of the week – Matchday 30

Kevin Volland leads the line in our team of the week after scoring a hattrick against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Matchday 30 – team of the week (4-4-2):

Goalkeeper: Jiri Pavlenka, Werder Bremen
Didn't have much to do in the first-half against RB Leipzig, but showed what he's made of after the break. Couldn't do much about Ademola Lookman's equalizer, but made a particularly great save in a one-on-one situation against Timo Werner.

Right-back: Daniel Caligiuri, Schalke 04
Very strong performance on Schalke's right wing-back in the Revierderby against Dortmund. Caligiuri set up the opener after winning the ball from Marcel Schmelzer, and he grabbed his second assist as he took part in the free-kick combination that led to Naldo's 2-0 goal.

Central defender: Benjamin Hübner, Hoffenheim
Outstanding display in Hoffenheim's 2-0 victory over Hamburger SV. He was strong in his duels and was a lot on the ball. Also a dangerous player further forward and actually had the ball in the net, but his goal was disallowed.

Central defender: Naldo, Schalke 04
Naldo may be 35 years old, but he is arguably in the form of his life. In the Revierderby, the Brazilian was once again rock solid defensively, and he scored the goal of the round when he smashed a free-kick into the back of the net with 120 km/h.

Left-back: David Alaba, Bayern München
Had a great game in the 5-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach. Wasn't troubled much in the defense and did well offensively. Alaba is known for his deadly left foot, but this time around he used his right foot to score a beautiful goal from the edge of the area.

Right midfielder: Erik Thommy, Stuttgart
The 23-year-old has exceeded all expectations since joining Stuttgart from Augsburg in January. Worked hard, always looked threatening and scored a goal before he was substituted after 75 minutes in Stuttgart's 1-1 draw with Hannover 96.

Central midfielder: Thiago Alcantara, Bayern München
The Spanish midfield maestro is moving closer to his top level after his long injury lay-off and had a really good game against Borussia Mönchengladbach in which he scored one of Bayern's five goals.

Central midfielder: Florian Grillitsch, Hoffenheim
The former Werder Bremen player has been very good lately, and he was impressive once again in the 2-0 win over Hamburger SV. Has evolved into an important player for Hoffenheim.

Left midfielder: Julian Brandt, Bayer Leverkusen
The talented winger had another impressive game as Leverkusen beat Frankfurt 4-1. He was involved in many of Leverkusen's offensive moves and gave his side the lead as he scored for the second match in a row.

Striker: Sandro Wagner, Bayern München
The big forward is proving his critics wrong. Wagner was on hand to score twice in Bayern's 5-1 win over Gladbach and has now netted seven times in 10 Bundesliga matches since joining Bayern München from Hoffenheim in January.

Striker: Kevin Volland: Bayer Leverkusen
After a dry spell of nine Bundesliga games without scoring, Volland finally got on the scoresheet in Leverkusen's 4-1 win over RB Leipzig in Matchday 29. In Leverkusen's 4-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, he got on the scoresheet again as he grabbed himself a hattrick.
