Jonas Hofmann reveals interest from other clubs

Jonas Hofmann has opened up on his current situation at Gladbach.
Borussia Mönchengladbach winger Jonas Hofmann has revealed he has attracted interest from other clubs.

"Of course I'm in exchange with my agent and because of the good performances of the last season and with the national team, there is interest from other clubs," said Hofmann in an interview with Bild.

Nevertheless, Hofmann is currently inclined to stay at Gladbach, where he is under contract until 2023. He doesn't know if he will sign a contract extension, though.

"The fact that we don't play internationally is not the decisive point for me. I feel comfortable in Gladbach, I have also already spoken with sports director Roland Virkus and we will continue to exchange ideas. I think we'll have another quiet meeting in the next week or two," Hofmann told Bild.

"As things stand, I'm 100 percent that I'll continue to play for Gladbach - after all, I still have a year left on my contract.

"We'll see if I'll sign an extension. The fact is: I can't say at this point that I'm definitely extending - but I can't say I'm definitely leaving either. This will all depend on my talks with Borussia, which are very important to me.

"There's no deadline for me. If you continue to talk to each other honestly, then it will work out - and both sides will feel comfortable with the result in the end."

30-year-old Hofmann was one of Gladbach's standout performers last season, racking up 12 goals and five assists in 26 Bundesliga games.
