Fantasy Bundesliga tips:
Strikers to consider for the start of the 2022/23 season
By Rune Gjerulff @runegjerulff
Here are the strikers you should consider when picking your Fantasy Bundesliga team for the start of the 2022/23 season.
In this article, we take a look at the strikers you should have on your radar when you put together your squad.
Sargis Adamyan (FC Köln, 6M)
After struggling for playing time at Hoffenheim, Adamyan was sent out on loan to Club Brugge for the second half of last season and went on to find the net five times in nine league games. He has now joined Köln and looks set to start up front alongside Anthony Modeste against newly-promoted Schalke 04 on Sunday after providing an assist in the cup against SSV Jahn Regensburg.
Michael Gregoritsch (Freburg, 7M)
With Lucas Höler out with a long-term injury, Freiburg's new signing from Augsburg is in line to start up front after swapping clubs with Ermedin Demirovic. The Austrian international has proved that he can score goals in the Bundesliga on a regular basis and is coming off a season that saw him find the net nine times for Augsburg in the league, so he is certainly capable of hurting his now former club this weekend.
Jordan Siebatcheu (Union Berlin, 7M)
After finding the net 27 times in 45 games for Young Boys last season, Siebatcheu has been brought in to replace Taiwo Awoniyi at Union Berlin. The U.S. international found the net for Union for the first time in a friendly against Awoniyi's new club, Nottingham Forest, before scoring his first competitive goal for the Berlin side against Chemnitzer in the cup.
Marcus Thuram (Gladbach, 10M)
The 2021/22 campaign was a season to forget for Thuram, but there are indications that the Frenchman can find back to his top form with Daniel Farke at the helm. After a good pre-season, Thuram bagged a hat-trick in Gladbach's 9-1 thrashing of fifth-tier side Oberachern, subsequently earning plenty of praise from his new coach. Gladbach have a very favorable run of fixtures, giving French World Cup winner Lillian Thuram's son the chance to kick off the season in style.
Jonathan Burkardt (Mainz, 11M)
Burkardt will be looking to follow up on an impressive 2021/22 campaign, which saw him score 14 goals in 37 games for Mainz in all competitions. Like Thuram, the 22-year-old could take advantage of a good starting schedule.
Karim Adeyemi (Dortmund, 12M)
Expectations are high for Dortmund's new signing from Salzburg after he scored 23 times in 44 matches for the Austrian champions last season. Judging by Dortmund's 3-0 DFB-Pokal win over 1860 München, the Germany forward has already integrated well at his new club, and he's a very good option if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the most expensive forwards in the game.
Patrik Schick (Leverkusen, 15M)
The focal point of Leverkusen's attack, Schick scored 24 goals in 27 Bundesliga matches for 'Die Werkself' last season. Schick can score against any opponent, and his four-goal haul against Greuther Fürth last season shows just how much of a difference-maker he can be.
Thomas Müller (Bayern, 15M)
Müller always slips under the radar Fantasy wise despite being one of the best-producing players in the game season after season. Last season, the Germany veteran was the third-highest scoring player, picking up 317 points (10 on average). However, if you both bring in Müller and one of the more goalscoring Bayern forwards such as Gnabry and Mané, it gives you less flexibility up front.
Sadio Mané (Bayern, 16M)
Mané seems to be enjoying himself at his new club, for whom he scored his first competitive goal in the Supercup. Mané is a flexible player, but Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann has said he sees the Senegalese international as a striker, and that bodes well for Fantasy owners.
