Team of the week – Matchday 31

Marco Reus features in the team of the week after his great performance against Bayer Leverkusen.
Matchday 31 – team of the week (4-3-1-2):

Goalkeeper: Julian Pollersbeck, Hamburger SV
Made a string of good saves to make sure Hamburger SV kept a clean sheet and took all three points in the important match against Freiburg.

Right-back: Pavel Kaderabek, Hoffenheim
Very involved on the right-hand side and finally scored his first Bundesliga goal as he took a well-timed run into the box and smashed the ball into the net.

Central defender: Jannik Vestergaard, Borussia Mönchengladbach
The big Dane handled the Wolfsburg attackers well and left them with no chances in Gladbach's 3-0 win.

Centre-back: Benjamin Pavard, VfB Stuttgart
The young French defender is the only Stuttgart player who hasn't missed a single minute on the pitch in the Bundesliga this season – and the club should be grateful for that. With his calmness and clever positioning, Pavard once again showed why he has been praised so much this season.

Left-back: Manuel Akanji, Borussia Dortmund
A very convincing display from the young central defender who impressed in an unaccustomed position as left-back.

Right midfielder: Thomas Müller, Bayern München
Only featured in the second half, but played so well that a spot in the team is a justified. Sent Bayern ahead and also contributed with an assist in the 3-0 win over Hannover 96.

Central midfielder: Christoph Kramer, Borussia Mönchengladbach
Very dominant in the centre of the park. Also scored a cheeky free-kick goal as he took Wolfsburg keeper Koen Casteels by surprise with a quick shot.

Left midfielder: Jadon Sancho, Borussia Dortmund
The 18-year-old showed great potential in the 4-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen. Sancho became the youngest Englishman to score in the Bundesliga and the first player from England to ever hit the net in a Borussia Dortmund shirt. He was also responsible for two fine assists.

Offensive midfielder: Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund
Missed a penalty in the first-half, but took his revenge after the break. The 28-year-old scored twice and also hit the crossbar with an impressive shot.

Striker: Yevhen Konoplyanka, Schalke 04
The FC Köln defense couldn't control Konoplyanka at all in the first half. Was behind an assist early on and also scored himself.

Striker: Mark Uth, Hoffenheim
The striker was on-fire in Hoffenheim's 5-2 win over RB Leipzig as he scored twice and made an assist.
