Fantasy Bundesliga tips:
10 players to consider for Matchday 2

By Rune Gjerulff   @runegjerulff

Here are 10 players you should consider bringing into your Fantasy Bundesliga team for Matchday 2.
Jeremie Frimpong.
Jeremie Frimpong.
In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we will not be focusing on the most obvious picks such as Alphonso Davies, Christopher Nkunku and Sadio Mané.

Instead, we will highlight players with a maximum ownership percentage of 15%, who could offer great value as differentials for Matchday 2.

Andrey Lunev, Leverkusen (Goalkeeper, 3.9M, 0%)
With Lukas Hradecky suspended for one game after receiving a red card against Borussia Dortmund, Lunev will be in goal for Leverkusen against Augsburg this week. Costing just 3.9M, he should be a good option for this weekend alone.

Kiliann Sidillia, Freiburg (Defender, 3.4M, 4%)
The 20-year-old defender turned out to be the ultimate bargain player of Matchday 1, amassing a whopping 17 points – the joint highest tally for a defender alongside Köln's Jonas Hector – as Freiburg stormed to a 4-0 away win over Augsburg. With Lukas Kübler set to miss out again, Sidillia is in line to continue on the right side of defence for Freiburg, who face Borussia Dortmund on Friday. Although Christian Streich's troops have a much more difficult task on their hands this time, Sidillia offers great value for money with his low price and the flexibility he provides because of his early stand-alone fixture.

Josha Vagnoman, Stuttgart (Defender, 4.9M, 2%)
Having joined Stuttgart from Hamburger SV over the summer, the German U21 international has plenty of attacking prowess and is nailed on to start as a right wing-back for his new club. If you're looking for an alternative to other budget defenders such as Weiser and Sidillia and don't mind paying a little more, Vagnoman is worth considering.

Christopher Lenz, Frankfurt (Defender, 7M, 0%)
With Filip Kostic heading to Juventus, Lenz played on the left side of defence against Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup, and he looks certain to keep his starting spot against Hertha. Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner has confirmed the club want to bring in a replacement for Kostic, but there shouldn't be much competition for Lenz until a new player is brought in, considering he's the only left-footed wide player in the squad.

Jeremie Frimpong, Leverkusen (Defender, 11.1M, 7%)
Frimpong was a bit unpredictable last season from a Fantasy perspective, but when he was on his game, he was a real difference-maker, taking at least 18 points from a single match on five occasions through the 2021/22 campaign. Among the defenders with the highest ceiling in the league, he could be a vital player to own as Leverkusen take on an Augsburg side, who lost 0-4 at home in their opener against Freiburg.

Christoph Baumgartner, Hoffenheim (Midfielder, 10.9M, 2%)
Hoffenheim fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Gladbach in their opener after an early red card for Stefan Posch made things extremely difficult for 'Die Kraichgauer'. Despite their opening-day loss, Hoffenheim look like a good team to target this week as they welcome projected relegation candidates Bochum to PreZero Arena. A proven Fantasy performer with an ownership of just 2 percent, Baumgartner could be a nice player to pick up.

Jesper Lindstrøm, Frankfurt (Midfielder, 11M, 4%)
Eintracht coach Oliver Glasner could rotate his side after Wednesday's Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid, but in light of Lindstrøm's importance and the fact that he was taken off after just 58 minutes last night, it would be surprising to see him benched. The 2021/22 Bundesliga rookie of the season could do a lot of damage against a defensively unstable Hertha side.

Jonas Hofmann, Gladbach (Midfielder, 14.1M, 13%)
The German international had a rather disappointing first matchday, picking up eight points, but his Fantasy potential is up there with the best in the division. Therefore, it's actually quite surprising that Hofmann is owned by just 13 percent, especially considering Gladbach's favorable schedule with games against Schalke and Hertha coming up.

Moussa Diaby, Leverkusen (Striker, 13.1M, 7%)
With Bayer Leverkusen expected to beat Augsburg comfortably at home, Patrik Schick is arguably the most obvious pick this week. But since the Czech international is owned by 22 percent of the players and this article is about less-owned differential picks, Moussa Diaby is the Leverkusen attacker we'll suggest. The French winger almost scored as many points as Schick last season, costs two million less and has an ownership percentage of just 7.

Andrej Kramaric, Hoffenheim (Striker, 13.1M, 2%)
Available at the exact same price as Diaby, Andrej Kramaric is another player with a lot of potential this week. The Croatian international has had a hand in a goal in 68 percent of his matches for Hoffenheim on average, scoring 102 times and providing 48 assists in 220 games for the club, so if André Breitenreiter's troops get on the scoresheet against Bochum this Saturday, there's a good chance he will be involved. Owned by just 2 percent, he could be a great differential.
