Report: Bayern inquired about Havertz
Sport1 reports that Bayern checked on the situation of Kai Havertz earlier this summer, as he was discussed as a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern München inquired about Chelsea and Germany attacker Kai Havertz at the beginning of the summer, according to Sport1.
The former Bayer Leverkusen player was reportedly discussed as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who went on to join Barcelona.
But, apparently, things didn't get serious after the Bavarians convinced Serge Gnabry to sign a new contract.
While Bayern will continue to keep an eye on Havertz, a move to Allianz Arena for the 23-year-old will probably only be realistic if one of the other attacking stars left the club.
RB Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku, Atlético Madrid's Joao Felix and Tottenham forward Harry Kane were also among the names discussed, per the report.
Bayern will not be making a move for any of them this summer, however, as club CEO Oliver Kahn has underlined that another striker will not arrive before the transfer window closes following the signings of Sadio Mané and youngster Mathys Tel.
