Liverpool made a late move to sign Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig in the last days, according to Sky Germany.

However, it wasn't possible to reach an agreement with Leipzig, who have already confirmed that the midfielder will not be going anywhere this summer.

This means that Laimer will probably leave Leipzig on a free transfer in 2023, at which point his deal expires, with a contract extension looking "very unlikely".

Bayern and Liverpool will both continue to keep an eye on the highly-rated defensive midfielder.
