Kicker Report: Augsburg and Stuttgart both out of Dovbyk race

German footballing magazine Kicker reports that a second Bundesliga club, FC Augsburg, have dropped their pursuit of Dnipro-1 striker Artem Dovbyk. The Ukrainian attacker had also previously been linked with VfB Stuttgart.
Twenty-five-year-old striker Artem Dovbyk looks increasingly unlikely to be headed for the Bundesliga after negotiations with a second club in as many days fell through. The 11-times-capped Ukrainian international, run the final year of his contract, had been shopped around by his current Ukrainian club.

According to Germany's preeminent footballing publication, VfB Stuttgart were strongly considering acquiring the former FC Midtjylland center-forward as a replacement for the departed Sasa Kalajdzic. FC Augsburg, despite having already procured some additional attacking assistance late in the transfer window, nevertheless briefly flirted with the notion as well.

Kicker reports that Dovbyk's Ukrainian maintains too high an asking price for the €5-million-valued attacker. Dnipro paid Midtjylland €430,000 to obtain him during the January 2020 transfer window.
