Chelsea have tabled their first bid for Borussia Dortmund starlet Christian Pulisic according to Ruhr Nachrichten.

According to reports from England, Dortmund want around €79 million for the American international, but Chelsea's bid is said to be 'well below' that amount.

'The Blues' hope to complete the signing of Pulisic as fast as possible, but Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has made it clear that the 20-year-old winger will stay until the end of the season at least.

Ruhr Nachrichten reports that the club recently informed Pulisic at a meeting that a transfer in January won't come into question.

Pulisic wasn't able to play in Saturday's 2-0 win over Freiburg because of muscular problems.

The 20-year-old, who has also been linked with Liverpool among others, has faced heavy competition from rising stars Jadon Sancho and Jacob Bruun Larsen this season and hasn't started a Bundesliga game since the end of September.
