Fantasy Bundesliga: Must-haves and differentials for Matchday 7

Ahead of Matchday 7, we have highlighted a must-have player (M) and a differential pick (D) from each game that you should consider for your Fantasy Bundesliga team.
1. FSV Mainz 05 v. Hertha BSC:

M: Aarón Martín, Defender (M05, 8.1M, 4%) - It was a rough week last matchday for most of Mainz’s players but a rebound is certainly in the cards against Hertha. Martín is starting to get back into the groove of things as shown by his week five accumulation of 22 Fantasy points. More of those performances should be expected from him going forward.

D: Dodi Lukébakio, Forward (BSC, 7.9M, 1%) - Lukébakio is quietly putting together a solid season, sitting at #10 in Total Points for the Forward position. That is not what most had probably expected coming into the season. Otherwise, there is not much to be desired with the rest of the squad.

FC Augsburg v. FC Bayern München:

M: Jamal Musiala, Forward (FCB, 13M, 38%) - Musiala played back to back 80 minute games between four days with league and UCL play. He grabbed a goal and an assist between the two. When healthy and starting, there is no end to what he could provide. Let’s hope this continues for all football fans.

D: Ermedin Demirović, Forward (FCA, 7.5M, 0%) - Demirović is starting to find his footing this season, scoring twice in the last four games. The move from Freiburg is obviously helping as he already has matched his goal tally from last year and is also about at his games started total from last year as well. Truly a positive change of scenery.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen v. SV Werder Bremen:

M: Mitchell Weiser, Defender (SVW, 3.9M, 25%) - Weiser has had a breakout season so far, starting every match and grabbing three assists as if this was 2018. The move to Bremen has done wonders for him. At a price point of only 3.9M, it is tough to not pick him up in your squad.

D: Kerem Demirbay, Midfielder (B04, 11.2M, 0%) - Demirbay has been a different man these last two matches, against Hertha in league play and Atletico Madrid in the recent midweek UCL clash. If the Demirbay of old can start showing up, Leverkusen could turn around this season before it is too late. At the very least, Demirbay should be on a streak of good performances so ride him while he is hot.

VfB Stuttgart v. Eintracht Frankfurt:

M: Randal Kolo Muani, Forward (SGE, 11.2M, 6%) - Kolo Muani has been a fine addition this year from Nantes and figures to keep getting better and better as the season progresses. Already the top Fantasy producer for a Frankfurt squad still trying to find their way, this weekend will be a good test. Frankfurt are up against a Stuttgart squad still looking for their first league win of the season.

D: Serhou Guirassy, Forward (VFB, 8.3M, 0%) - The new man from Rennes has already made his name known, converting the penalty last matchday against Bayern to mark his move to the Bundesliga. He should start to see plenty of playing time as Stuttgart are desperate to turn their fortunes around.

Borussia Dortmund v. FC Schalke 04:

M: Julian Brandt, Midfielder (BVB, 12.5M, 3%) - A rough defeat to Leipzig last matchday should trigger Dortmund into making amends in the Revierderby. It being the first one in 564 days will bring excitement that the Bundesliga has been missing for some time. Brandt should start out on the wing and will more than likely have a huge impact on the game.

D: Giovanni Reyna, Midfielder (BVB, 11.7M, 0%) - Reyna started his first match of the season during the UCL matchup with Man City as he works himself back to full fitness. He probably will not play the whole match but there is a good chance he starts the derby as well. Always dangerous with the ball at his feet, the risk and reward could be worth it.

Borussia Mönchengladbach v. RB Leipzig:

M: Yann Sommer, Keeper (BMG, 9.8M, 28%) - Sommer is the 7th best Fantasy player in the entire game. Pretty much enough said for a goalkeeper. Against a high firing team like Leipzig, expect a huge save score.

D: Abdou Diallo, Defender (RBL, 8.2M, 0%) - The new loan player from PSG has made a strong impression on the squad, starting the last three matches in all competitions for Red Bull and also scoring double digit Fantasy points last weekend against Dortmund. The league is familiar to him so he should have no problem settling in with his new club.

1. FC Union Berlin v. VfL Wolfsburg:

M: Julian Ryerson, Defender (FCU, 5.7M, 19%) - The 4th best Fantasy defender in the game and half the price than his competitors is reason enough to have him on your squad. Lest we mention that Union is winning the league at the moment, everything is going right for the East Berliners.

D: Diogo Leite, Defender (FCU, 7.2M, 0%) - Another Union defender who is enjoying life at the moment, Leite should reap the benefits of just playing on a Union side that is on a roll. Wolfsburg have also looked dreadful so far and have the second lowest goals scored in the league to lowly Bochum.

VfL Bochum 1848 v. FC Köln:

M: Florian Kainz, Midfielder (KOE, 9.1M, 26%) - The Billy Goats could have a great game against bottom table Bochum. Kainz has been their best player this season and doesn’t look to stop anytime soon.

D: Benno Schmitz, Defender (KOE, 7.4M, 1%) - A clean sheet is also in the cards as Bochum have only scored four league goals so far this season. Schmitz does have the ability to score double digit Fantasy points and has done so far once this season already.

TSG Hoffenheim v. Sport-Club Freiburg:

M: Christian Günter, Defender (SCF, 13.2M, 29%) - Freiburg are enjoying a breakout campaign and any number of players could and should be in your squad. The captain has, as always, kept the standard at a premium. He is also the third best Fantasy defender at the moment.

D: Robert Skov, Forward (TSG, 7.7M, 0%) - Although he will play more as a left wingback, Skov is consistently dangerous in the attack and has superb set piece skills. He has grabbed a goal and an assist so far this season while also topping his minutes production from last year already.
