Reports: Hertha's Darida nears move to Greece

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that Hertha BSC midfielder Vladimir Darida, after nearly ten years in German football, is on the verge of a move to Greece.
After 192 appearances for Germany's Charlottenburg capital city side, Vladimir Darida appears ready to depart German football. As reported by Germany's Sport Bild tabloid, Hertha BSC sporting CEO Fredi Bobic has been in intense negotiations with Greek Super League side Aris Thessaloniki FC for a January transfer.

The tabloid adds that Darida himself has given the deal the green-light. All that remains is to negotiate a suitable transfer fee. The midfielder, on an expiring contract this summer, maintains an estimated €1.5 million market value in the latest transfermarkt listings. Hertha would obviously be pleased to cash in on him.

Since joining SC Freiburg in 2013, Darida has scored 22 league goals for his two Bundesliga sides. In the later stages of the 2019/20 campaign, the Czech international set two Bundesliga distance-covered records for his current club. Darida remained a relevant actor for Hertha last season, amassing seven scorer points in 28 appearances across all competitions.

Under the new head-coaching regime of Sandro Schwarz, however, the veteran has made only three extremely brief appearances off the bench totaling just 28 minutes. Greek journalist Georgios Sideridis has confirmed the Sport Bild transfer rumors and claims that the Greek port city club wishes to conclude the deal as soon as possible.
