Report: Malong headed to Bochum on loan with mandatory purchase clause

Greek sportswriter Nikos Kotsis reports that former Mainz central midfielder Pierre Kunde Malong is on the verge of joining VfL Bochum on loan with a mandatory purchase option.
VfL Bochum have reportedly secured the services of one of their big January transfer targets. Twenty-seven-year old Cameroonian international Pierre Kunde Malong is, according to Greek journalist Nico Kotsis, on his way to the Bundesrepublik to finalize the details of a loan arrangement that will last until the end of the season.

Relegation candidates Bochum receive immediate help in central midfield in the form of a player with three seasons of German top-flight experience. Kotsis nevertheless reports that the 27-year-old's services do not come without cost. Kotsis claims that Bochum will be on the hook for some €2 million in the event that the Revierklub avoids relegation.

The player remains under contract with parent club Olympiacos Piraeus through the end of the 2023/24 campaign. Bochum naturally have no obligatory purchase option should they be relegated.
