VfL Bochum have reportedly secured the services of one of their big January transfer targets. Twenty-seven-year old Cameroonian international Pierre Kunde Malong is, according to Greek journalist Nico Kotsis, on his way to the Bundesrepublik to finalize the details of a loan arrangement that will last until the end of the season.

Relegation candidates Bochum receive immediate help in central midfield in the form of a player with three seasons of German top-flight experience. Kotsis nevertheless reports that the 27-year-old's services do not come without cost. Kotsis claims that Bochum will be on the hook for some €2 million in the event that the Revierklub avoids relegation.

The player remains under contract with parent club Olympiacos Piraeus through the end of the 2023/24 campaign. Bochum naturally have no obligatory purchase option should they be relegated.
