Rummenigge comments on Lucas Hernandez and Bayern's transfer plans
Bayern München boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge denies that a decision to sign Lucas Hernandez from Atlético Madrid has been made.
According to Marca, Bayern München are set to take advantage of a €85 million release clause to sign Atlético Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez in January.
However, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists that the transfer isn't in place.
"No decision has been made at all. Hasan Salihamidzic and his scouting team are now looking at interesting players. That's their job, and they're doing very well," Rummenigge told Sky and added:
"We haven't made a final decision on what we'll do in the winter or in the summer. At first, it was important for us to master the present. We're absolutely not afraid of the future at Bayern München."
After a difficult period, Bayern ended up winning six of their last seven games in 2018, rounding off the year with a 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. And Rummenigge is obviously extremely pleased that Niko Kovac and his team have bounced back.
"There have been many discussions, both with Niko and some players, and I think that has helped the team to get together with the coach. The football is FC Bayern-like again," Rummenigge said.
