Reports: Union to sign Juranovic as Ryerson replacement

Multiple sources are now reporting that 1. FC Union are prepared to sign Croatian international Josip Juranovic as Julian Ryerson's replacement.
Following Julian Ryerson's departure, 1. FC Union Berlin have been in the market for a new full back to serve in Urs Fischer's newly concocted 4-4-2 system. The FCU trainer has stated on record that he had specific plans for Ryerson and taken aback by the fact that one of his projected starters suddenly opted for a change. It now appears that Union's sporting director has taken action to quickly procure a serviceable replacement.

Multiple German media sources are now confirming a Fabrizio Romano report asserting that the Köpenickers are preparing to invest heavily in a replacement. Croatian international Josip Juranovic of Celtic Glasgow is apparently en route to Germany's capital city and will join die Eisernen for a hefty transfer fee. The 27-times-capped international will cost Union approximately €10 million including bonuses.

If true, Juranovic will constitute the most expensive purchase in the club's history. The current Nottingham Forest striker cost the Köpenickers a reported €7.5 million in the summer of 2021. After flipping Awoniyi for a reported €20.5 million this past summer, Union possess enough money to invest in a player of Juranovic's stature. Ryerson's move to Dortmund lined the FCU's pockets with a reported extra €5 million.
