Confirmed: Bremen's Burke heads to London on loan
Both clubs involved have confirmed Scottish striker Oliver Burke's short-term loan out.
Oliver Burke's London loan-out is complete. The 25-year-old will spend the duration of the season on the Isle in England's EFL Championship. In statements published by Germany's Kicker magazine and issued on parent club SV Werder Bremen's social media page, those associated with Bremen made it clear that they expected the forward back in Germany this summer.
"After [his early season] contributions to the team, he [Burke] had expectations to play more," SV licensing director Clemens Fritz told Kicker Magazine's Tim Lüddecke, "And you could tell that he did. That's why we've now found a good solution for everyone involved."
"It's not that we have written him off," Fritz insisted, "we still see enormous potential in him. We hope that he can further develop with more playing time."
Burke scored two goals whilst on loan at Millwall from Sheffield United last spring. The Scot also netted two Bundesliga goals for his German outfit this year.
