Augsburg are reportedly set to sign 19-year-old defensive midfielder Renato Palma Veiga on loan from Sporting CP.

According to Kicker, Veiga is expected to join Augsburg on a one-year loan deal with an option to buy.

Veiga, 1.90 metres tall, is a defensive midfielder and the captain of Portugal's U20 national team.

He is yet to make his senior debut, but has featured 34 times for the reserves and played 13 matches for the U19's in the UEFA Youth League.

Veiga could become Augsburg's seventh January signing following the arrivals of Arne Engels, Dion Beljo, David Colina, Irvin Cardona, Kelvin Yeboah and Nathaniel Mbuku.
