Team of the week – Matchday 34

The in-form Jean-Kevin Augustin stars in our final team of the week of the 2017/18 season.

Matchday 34 – team of the week (4-4-2):


Goalkeeper: Ron-Robert Zieler, Stuttgart
Stuttgart was put under pressure in large periods of the match against Bayern München, but could only put the ball past Ron-Robert Zieler once. The former Leicester City keeper made several important saves and was vital to Stuttgart's impressive 4-1 win.

Right-back: Lars Bender, Leverkusen
The Leverkusen skipper was solid as always and also provided an assist in the 3-2 win over Hannover 96. Was brought off before Hannover's two goals.

Centre-back: Robin Knoche, Wolfsburg
Defensively very sound in the 4-1 win over FC Köln and also stepped up in the other end of the pitch with a nice headed goal.

Centre-back: Benjamin Pavard, Stuttgart
The young Frenchman has played on a very high level during the whole season, and he was impressive once again in the 4-1 win over Bayern.

Left-back: Christian Günter, Freiburg
The left-back had a solid game and was part of a Freiburg defense that kept a rare clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Augsburg.


Right midfielder: Anastasios Donis, Stuttgart
The winger hit Bayern hard with his blistering pace in the surprising 4-1 win at the Allianz Arena. Set up Daniel Ginczek's 1-0 goal and later made it 2-1 after a fine run.

Central midfielder: Josuha Guilavogui, Wolfsburg
Hammered the ball into the net after less than a minute and also provided an assist in Wolfsburg's 4-1 win over FC Köln.

Cental midfielder: Lewis Holtby, Hamburger SV
Stepped up for HSV once again and scored the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach. Unfortunately for HSV, the win wasn't enough to save the club from its first relegation from the Bundesliga ever.

Left midfielder: Ademola Lookman, RB Leipzig
The Everton loanee really seems to be enjoying life in the Bundesliga. In the 6-2 win over Hertha BSC, he scored a goal and made two assists.

Striker: Daniel Ginczek, Stuttgart
The striker impressed was right where he needed to be in Stuttgart's 4-1 win over Bayern München in which he scored twice.

Striker: Jean-Kevin Augustin, RB Leipzig
The 20-year-old has ended his season with a bang. Last week, he scored once and assisted two goals against Wolfsburg, and this time around he netted twice and made one assist in the 6-2 win over Hertha BSC.
