Kicker Report:
Frankfurt target Geiger for midfield restock

By Peter Weis   @PeterVicey

Michael Pfeiffer of Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are strongly considering bringing in Hoffenheim's Dennis Geiger as a replacement for likely-to-depart midfielders Daichi Kamada and Djibril Sow.

Geiger and 1. FC Köln midfielder Ellyes Skhiri appear to be the top two priority acquisitions of SGE sportig director Markus Krösche.

Already linked with foreign clubs SL Benfica and Everton F.C, Germany's preeminent footballing publication reports that Hoffenheim midfielder Dennis Geiger may be poised for a move closer to home this summer. Michael Pfeiffer of Germany's Kicker Magazine claims that Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in the Germany U21 international. The Rhein-Neckar-Region prospect is available on a free after the season.

Geiger may yet extend with his current club; the only organization the Mosbach-native has played for in his entire professional career. A short move over to Hessen from Sinsheim could still potentially appeal to the 24-year-old; particularly if he is promised a role in the squad of a more successful club.

Frankfurt remain in the market for midfield reinforcements. Daichi Kamada appears almost certain to depart the Rhein-Main metropolis on a free this summer. After turning down offers from Premiership clubs last summer, Djibril Sow looks likely to make the jump to the Isle after the season. Squad captain Sebastian Rode has already announced that he will retire after the 2023/24 campaign.

Frankfurt have also been linked with Köln midfielder Ellyes Skhiri.
