10 players to consider for Matchday 25
By Rune Gjerulff @runegjerulff
Here are 10 players you should consider bringing into your Fantasy Bundesliga team for Matchday 25.
In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we will not be focusing on the most obvious picks such as Jamal Musiala and Randal Kolo Muani.
Instead, we will highlight players with a maximum ownership percentage of 20%, who could offer great value as differentials for Matchday 25.
Luca Netz, Gladbach (Defender, 4.1M, 0%)
An attacking left-back, Netz will once again fill in for the suspended Ramy Bensebaini when Gladbach host Werder at Borussia-Park on Friday night. Gladbach aren't exactly in the best of form, but they could be helped by the fact that Werder are struggling with a number of injuries, particularly at the back.
Raphael Guerreiro, Dortmund (13.4M, 13%)
Has scored a whopping 69 points in his last three games (averaging 23!) and looks set to continue in the midfield role he thrived in against Schalke 04. His value is only increased by the fact that Dortmund are playing a home game against a FC Köln side that is winless in four games and has failed to score in any of them.
Borna Sosa, Stuttgart (Defender, 13.7M, 7%)
Sosa is one of the league's most in-form defenders from a Fantasy perspective, having scored 46 points in his last three games (averaging 15.3) despite Stuttgart failing to win or keep a clean sheet in any of them. There's no reason why he can't do just as well at home against Wolfsburg.
Marco Richter, Hertha BSC (Midfielder, 8.7M, 1%)
With an average of 7.3 points per game in Hertha's last four outings, Richter has been the German club's best Fantasy asset of late. If you are backing Sandro Schwarz's men to add to Hoffenheim's woes, the 25-year-old is certainly an option to consider.
Lars Stindl, Gladbach (Midfielder, 11.6M, 3%)
As mentioned earlier in this article, Gladbach have struggled of late, but Friday's home game against Werder Bremen should be a good chance for them to get back to winning ways, given the away side's injury problems. Lars Stindl is capable of getting good returns against any team when he's on his game, so if the Gladbach captain starts on Friday night, it might be worth taking a gamble on him.
Christoph Baumgartner, Hoffenheim (12.9M, 2%)
Selecting a Hoffenheim player at this stage is obviously a big gamble given their poor form. However, it's worth remembering that they're facing a Hertha side who have lost their last seven away games. Baumgartner's return from suspension could prove crucial if Hoffenheim are to end their winless run, and he's even on sale this week.
Marco Reus, Dortmund (Midfielder, 15.8M, 15%)
Reus was on a roll with three consecutive double-digit returns when he fell ill and missed last week's 2-2 draw with Schalke 04. The BVB captain should be ready to return against out-of-form Köln, making him a very attractive option.
Jessic Ngankam, Hertha BSC (2.5M, 0%)
Ngankam has started four of Hertha's last five Bundesliga games, including last week's 1-1 draw with Mainz in which he scored from the penalty spot. Hertha coach Sandro Schwarz has no real reason to drop the young striker, who is available for a measly 2.5 million and will be up against crisis-hit Hoffenheim.
Mergim Berisha, Augsburg (Striker, 10.5M, 1%)
Augsburg may have conceded five goals against Bayern Munich, but they scored three of their own, with two of their goals coming from Mergim Berisha, who finished with 14 points. Augsburg are very strong at home and have won four games in a row at the WWK-Arena, where they now face 17th-placed Schalke 04.
Timo Werner, RB Leipzig (Striker, 15.3M, 3%)
Werner was recommended in last week's version of this article, and he didn't disappoint, getting on the scoresheet and picking up 12 points. Leipzig suffered a heavy defeat in midweek as they were thrashed 7-0 by Manchester City, but it goes without saying that Bochum are a completely different team and 'Die Roten Bullen' will need to be fired up to bounce back on Saturday.
