Report: Dortmund ready to offer Guerreiro new two-year deal

A contract extension for Raphael Guerreiro is likely, according to Sport1.
After a U-turn, Borussia Dortmund are now keen to extend Raphael Guerreiro's contract by two years, according to Sport1.

"In the case of Raphael Guerreiro, the bosses at Borussia Dortmund have had a change of heart," Sport1 chief reporter Patrick Berger said in the "Die Dortmund-Woche" podcast.

"The tendency is clearly towards an extension. Dortmund want to keep the Portuguese and tie him down for two years - but under certain conditions."

Guerreiro has been in fine form since the winter break, scoring two goals and laying on seven assists. Most recently, the attacking left-back has flourished in a central midfield role.

"The move has paid off," said Berger's podcast colleague Oliver Müller, adding:

"Jude Bellingham could go. With Guerreiro, you would have an option in midfield."

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl recently confirmed to Kicker that talks are underway with Guerreiro.

"Everything is still open," the 43-year-old stressed, adding: "We have given it some thought.
